Default Invalid media player files PLEASE HELP

I got some movies of BitTorrent, and when i play them in any media player they wont work even though the formats are suppoted any one have any ideas? i checked the MS websites, downloaded codeds, nothings working! any help would be grately appreciated.

try playing on VLC it has all codecs built in.
what kind of file is it?

uhhh media player doesnt support avi. at least mine doesnt. just get winamp or divx. and dont double post. just use the edit button

video LAN VLC player. its a medi aplayer thats meant to play anything pretty much!
try renaming them
make sure the file extension right - no spaces in it or something

They also may be corrupted files. That is not unusual on a large d/l.
