Exclamation Interrupted Format Help

I have a Western Digital 160GB Scorpio Blue that I bought an enclosure for after my netbook 'died'. I plugged it in and it showed the file system how it was last I used it. I decided to format the drive. Unfortunately, the enclosure was unplugged from the computer in mid-format and now the disc is not recognized in My Computer or Disc Management . However, I do hear the noise made when plugging a new device in and out. This noise repeats itself, yet no recognition is made by the computer as to what it is. I can hear the drive spinning. It is running. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks.

Hi Xargon

Download DBAN (freeware) burn to disk as bootable, disconnect all Hard Drives except the one you want to format, run DBAN as boot from disk (if DBAN can find your disk it will format it)

Good tip wildcat, once you have completed the full format I reccomend doing a check disk chkdsk /F /R /x

and check the file system sectors and clusters.

Kind Regards
