Default Internet Speeds

I live in Australia and just got broadband

The package is basic (256K-64k) $19
Now I went to a site www.perthinternet.com/speed.html to check my internt speed and it came up with two speeds:

222.2 Kilo bits per second or 27.7 Kilo Bytes per second

Now imj not an expert and so I amjust wondering if that is what iut is meant to be?
