I am incurring a problem with my father in-laws pc and hopefully somebody might know what to do.
Their computer is running windows xp. I installed norton anti-virus about 3 months ago. Everything was fine until last friday. He called and said that he was getting messages popping up saying that his emails couldn't get scanned. He wasn't connected to the internet at the time.
He uses peoplepc as his internet service. I try to connect to the internet, it dials up and shows the connection but then the page comes up and says page cannot be displayed. There is no firewall causing this hangup.
I purchased spyware doctor yesterday and installed it and ran it but I couldn't get to there site to get updates.
Could this be a virus? I haven't heard of anything going around that would cause this. If I can't fix this I think I'm going to have to reformat there drive. Any help would be appreciated.
