It's that time of year to renew my Internet Security Suite and I'm looking for the best security for my desktop and laptop at a reasonable price.
I know everyone here hates Norton but I have used NIS 2007 for the last year and it's worked great for me with limited resource issues.
Am I best to renew or look elsewhere?

Do you guys agree with these ratings?

NIS 2007 renew is $49.99
NIS 2008 new purchase is $69.99 (It's available now)

I should probably expand on my information saying how good NIS2007 has worked for me..........
I'm an admin on a very popular motorcycle BBS forum and I must approve all new members. Part of the approval requires checking their backgrounds and any Internet web links. SO I have to click on them to see...........believe me, I would never go to most of these sites (porn, spam, you name it). Needless to say alot of potential members <spammers> are immediately banned.
I've had zero issues using NIS 2007 for the last year.

But I'm willing to look at any other top rated packages.

Oh wow!!!! Get the new version. I always like the new features in the newer software. $20 difference is not that much. Or what you can do is wait a little longer for Norton to give out a huge rebate. They always do. You can get Norton 2008 for free, literally, or for a much lower price than renew or retail.

Even tho i don't personally like norton i would say
Yeah best of going with the newest edition available rather than just paying for something thats not the newest one available , and the price difference realy isnt anything significant compared to the new features you will get
Whatever you do don't get mcafee i used their internet secuirty suite for about 18months when i got it free with a dell i bought and it was terrible , every time it updated it would always reset something or mess up and there customer support is quite frankly dissapointing
May i also say happy 46th birthday to you and heres to many happy returns

Wow......thank you for noticing and the birthday wishes. :p
I know I'm probably alot older than most members here but I still do celebrate my birthday.
Went motorcycling most of the day with my wife and just got back from a very nice dinner out. Fantastic day!

Thanks for the info......
