Internet problems

Sounds like it may be the dns server is down. It happens. If you're on cable you may want to get the dns addresses and manually type them in the router set up. Make sure you have 2 dns addresses so it has a fallback.

I'm not to knowledgable with this stuff, what is a DNS and what do I do with it?

well you can ping some sites go start>run>cmd>ping www.google.co.uk
and see if you get reply etc

Ok, i tried that. I got 4 replies. What does it mean? And, is that my ip address that is replying?

it means you have access to the internet your computer knows the internet is there.
