Heres some ideas: If you are using a keyboard and mouse in your PS/2 ports, update their drivers. If you are using USB keyboard and mouse, go into your device manager (I forget how to do this in XP, but in Vista its Start Menu > Control Panel > Device Manager.) Once you get there, click on View > Show Hidden Devices. Look under both the Keyboards and Mice tabs. If you see any device under these tabs with PS/2 in the title, you should uninstall them by Right clicking on them and then clicking on uninstall.
