Default Internal hard drive to External

Hey guys, i was wondering if possible to change a internal hard drive to external?? What do i need to get?? I know like case but that about it.





(edit) its a 130g hard drive, I want to change, cuz i am getting hopefully a new laptop. maybe a dell 1503

You need something like this: Rosewill RX250-U Aluminum 2.5" USB 2.0 External Enclosure.

if its a normal desktop hard drive then you will need an enclosure that is 3.5" not 2.5" like Atomic said, but otherwise he was right on the money.

Yea, you need a 3.5". Here's the right sized one: Rosewill RX350-U BLK Aluminum 3.5" USB 2.0 External Enclosure.

also depends onwhat rtype of connection the hdd either ide or sata

i dont think it would matter, u can change that with 1 jumper switch

you will need a sata connection in the enclosure if the drive is sata .here is one with sata .

hey i just got the case, so far i cant get it to work with vista. Rosewill doesnt have driver for it yet. I think. I dont know what else to do. There is data on the hard drive. I dont wont to reformat

Any ideas??
