Default Interesting article - future of gaming

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7258120.stm

Basically they're saying consoles will become obsolete and game oriented "server farms" will run the games for you. All the processing power and such is done by these servers. The picture will then be streamed to your home TV.

Thoughts?

I don't like it at all. It's a bit like taking away everyone's cars and telling them to use public transport. People like their cars and a lot of people like to have their own PCs.

No no no...I think PCs will survive, but this seems like it's very possible for console gaming. Right now everyone just has copies of the same exact consoles anyway, so it's not like you're taking away the uniqueness of your car.
