Quad core? How about having 8 cores? Totally possible and upcoming in the very near future. I say within the next 5 years.

Moore's Law. New processor technology every two years, and Intel is following it. In 2008, they'll be going 45nm with the Nehalem and 32nm with Gesher in 2010.

Well it could've gotten that high, but you need to think logically. Think about it...Ken Kutaragi said that the PS3 will be capable of 100FPS and will have a "4D" online "matrix." Gotta love Sonyisms.

Intel will bring its first ever quad core chips to market in a new line of HP workstations due to be introduced on November 13, 2006. Core 2 Quad version for mainstream desktops in the first quarter of 2007. Then we'll look forward to DDR3 in 2008 most likely.
