Would it be worth getting an 'E5420' Xeon processor for around £230 instead of a Q6600, which seems to be 4 times more powerful on performance tests?

Edit: Ah well after some research I guess you need that Skulltrail m/b along with another one of these .. with special memory which in turn would cost much more.

The E3xxx & Xxxx series Xeons are skt775 but are not any different from the E8xxx & Qxxx series Dual/Quad core cpu's, definitely not a 4x performance increase.

Well, just what I saw on cpu benchmarks. But then I realised that they must have been using the Skulltrail with two of those Xeon's which gave it around 4x performance (the scores for Q6600 and Xeon were like 2300 and 8000 respectively).
