Well, Most people say its cheaper to build. And i wouldnt mind starting from scratch. I just dont wanna spend too much $. maybe the 500-600 range? maybe more. i just dont have alot of info on these...

Hey, My brother has an Hp desktop. Its around 2 years old. Maybe Older. Its getting a little old. Cant really play much games on it.

Specs:


Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz


503 MB RAM


Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller



Hes Only 10 and was asking me how he could make it play better games.
I said it needs some upgrades.

I thought about adding 1Gb of RAM. and Getting a new graphics card


I wasnt sure if we needed a new proccesor. This one seems a little old.

My qeustion is. Would This Proccesor Be good enough. And, If not What would be a good upgrade.

Also, If there is a better graphics card. Or would this one be ok.

But im not much of a computer guy. Some advice please?

Note: He enjoys games like. Hl2,Css,Gmod. Not anything too new.

um i have the same specs as your brother but i recently bought 2x1 gb ram and my cpu is the Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz and my ram is 2048 MBytes and i have a graphics card that should work fine, cause i use it as well on crysis its the: Geforce 9500 GT but only if he has a PCI-E or PCI express slot

For better gaming and Graphics, AMD processor with 2 GB RAM is better because AMD processor provides better graphics and gaming then Intel processor. If your budget is good then you can also include Nvidia graphics card for the enjoying complete and latest gaming.
