Well Prescotts are known to run really hot...so it might be normal (I'm not exactly sure). Not to mention that Prescotts have hella high latency and hindered performance (thanks to it's 21 pipelines). The Northwood core is a cheaper and better alternative. Oh, and did I say that Prescotts run really hot?

I also have a p4 3.2 . This has been the same problem i had. If your using the fan that came with the cpu i would buy another one. I,m using the Volcano 7+ controled by my Nexus 101 panel. I have it set at low speed 3650 rpms and change my case fans locations. Side fan blowing in front fan blowing in and the rear fan blowing out. Went from 51 c to 39 c. Also saw that after 30 hrs of use the temperature started to go down. Hope this helps. Or you can you go it get liquid cooling system that I keep reading about.

There are legal issues And where would you even get it from. Its some serious specialised equipment and most people who use it make their own equipment I don't think anybody sells Liquid Nitrogen Cooling Systems.

I have a 2.8ghz prescott. Everything is running at around 30-40. But lately, my computer has been crapping out on me. Might either be my cpu or mobo. Either ways, I'm beginning to look towards a AMD system now because of all the problems I'm having with Intel.
