Default Intel introduces a new Extreme Edition with more FSB.

http://anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2261

Doesn't seem to show much of an improvement over the 800mhz FSB chips, but still kinda interesting, and very overpriced.

Exaclty what I was thinking, the fx-55 alone which is the best cpu out is around $950.

All high end processors like that are overpriced; the FX-55 only works with games, its too expensive for such a use. The EE only really does actual computer stuff, its too expensive.

In the end however you can see 20 Seconds less Encoding time, 3 Seconds less Application Loading time; even a number of seconds less game loading time. You cannot see even 50 extra Frames. As long as it does more than 70 all the time, in explosions and such you won't notice anything. In the end, the EE makes more sense than the FX if you're going to pay that much for a Processor. The EE gives you something you can see and will save you time, the FX only gives you something you can go and brag to your friends about.

Hey! Stop copying what I say! Anyway, there is another post going on EEs which is longer and has much more to say, so post on that instead.
