Default Intel Heat sink Q

Does the stock heat sink for a celeron D need a side air vent in the case to work properly?

Every case should have an air duct, just because everything generates heat, CPU, hard drive, video card. So, yes, it should, becuaes if not, I see no reason why it wouldnt overheat.
