bandwidth with DDR3 is extreme high. If you have the money, go for it.

I was reading the reviews on the DDR3 and they ran benchmarks which claim "minimal" increase in performance on current P35 boards. They recommend using DDR2 for the P35 boards since you will see an increase in gaming because the memory controller of the P35 chipset have significantly improved over the P965 chipset.

Even at slow timings, DDR3 shows a ton of promise. It is as fast as the fastest DDR2 on the P965, but it can't match the same performance with DDR2 memory performance on the P35, yet.

DDR3 can run at higher speeds than DDR2 and as faster memory timings become more available, watch out!!!! But looking at the price, wow. It will mature just like DDR2 did. Wait a year....

If i were you i'd future proof myself and get a Quad core. It doesnt cost THAT much after the price cut and so really its the only option for the PC enthusiast
