Default Intel Core 2 Quad v Intel Quad Core Xeon??

I've seen an Intel Quad-Core Xeon CPU on ebyuer Here and an Intel Core 2 Quad Core Here - and since they both use 64-bit processing, are compatible with the LGA775 motherboard socket, both have 8Mb L2 Cache and both have a Bus speed of 1066MHz - but the Xeon is 146 ($292) and the Core 2 Quad is 165 ($330)...

So could i just get the Xeon instead even though its designed for use with servers and stuff?

Thanks!

Well the Q6600 is higher clocked, so it's faster. But you could easily overclock the Xeon to those speeds and much higher.

Depends. I'd say if you're overclocking, get the Xeon. If not, you'd be better off with the Q6600.

Yes I think they are both based on the Core architecture.
