Cool installing windows xp from an external cd ??

hello guys

I have a little problem ,
the cd drive of my laptop is knackered, I need to reformat the hard drive and install windows xp . can i install windows xp from an external cd drive ?
considering in Bios there is no option to boot from the usb?

please any suggestions is appreciated

If you can't boot from usb then you won't be able to install it
