Default Installing Sound Driver

I recently purchased a new computer. It came with Vista Home Edition, which I didn't care for. I decided to upgrade to Vista Ultimate which did seem a little better but still had many annoying compatibility issues. In the end, I decided to retreat back to my familiar OS, Xp Pro. While installing Xp I must have had some kind of error because now all of the sudden my sound card is not installed. Does anyone know how I could install this sound card without completely reinstalling my computer?
