Installing a New processer onto my Laptop

Hey are you able to install a processer into a laptop? I want to install a processer from a IBM thinkpad A20 (PIII 700Mhz) into my laptop which is a i series IBM Think pad (type 1161 -11u) can it be done?, I do know alto on Desktop computers but when it comes to laptop hardware i have no idea could someone help me please thank you.

Given the same socket, but if you are not sure do not attempt it. a desktop computers inside is TOTALLY dif world from a laptop.

Well i want to go onto ebay and buy a laptop for parts and put in a new processer, Is the chipset the same from a Celeron 550 to a PIII 750?
