Default Installing Linux (Ubuntu) Help

Ok, so I honestly have no idea what im doing, but I want to learn. My Ubunut Discs just came in the mail today and I want to try it install it. Im running Windows Xp right now but I also want to have Ubuntu on the same harddrive. I have a seperate partition thats 104gb and I dont know where to go from there. Im really worried about whiping out XP and having nothing left on my harddrive so im very hesitant. If anybody could give me some tips or pointers or really just where ti start it would be great, thanks.

Default Re: Installing Linux (Ubuntu) Help

I would suggest installing it on the second partition and move all the other data to the first partition.
