This is my first time posting here at the forums and also the first time im building a computer from scratch. Im looking to build a good gaming rig for home not really for LAN parties so the size is not a factor. Ive gone through various components and have put this together. Id like some insight on how it will be and if there is anything ive overlooked or i should change. Ive priced it out at around $2700 which is where Id like to keep it. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Have you considered AMD cpus? I find them to be faster and more stable than Intel especially for gaming and I'm sure many others will agree with me here. Otherwise I guess everything is alright. It all depends on what kind of games you play if it is really worth blowing all that money. :p My system cost me less than $1000 and I can play any game I have ever wanted to. And it's not a pos either, it's able to fully run Doom 3. :p

I did consider an AMD but if I was to go that route what would be the right mobo to choose. As far as the money goes i want to build a pc that i wont have to upgrade for awhile and its like a present for myself. I appreciate the insight.

Hey BigGee56 ,

Welcome aboard !! Sorry to jack your thread, but since you made you introduction here... Have fun 8)

no! amd! if ur gonna spend that much money, and it looks like you have a lot of it by ur comp parts, get the amd fx 55. lot cooler, lot faster, and just an all around better processor! pentium's just heat up too much... i kno... i have one right nowl... i wish my old comp hadnt broken down... it was sweet... amd 64 3400+. man it was nice.,

But if you want superior prefromance get a Sli mobo like the one above, then get one 6800gt then wait and get another when you have the money.
