Hey All,
I have an htpc that connects to an oldish hifi system via a 3.5mm to RCA cable. The speakers are quite powerful, and when I play a cd through the hifi system it sounds great. But when connected via the computer, the sound signal is weak and trebley. I also have to put the hifi system volume right up to max in order for the pc system volume's range to be acceptable.
I've tried a few things with limited success - what I'm wondering is if there is any free solutions to improving the bass and perhaps boosting the volume at the system level in order to fill the speakers potential? I've plugged other devices into the hifi via RCA before wit no sound problems.
