The i7 chips aren't that great for gaming. You'll get better results going with a high end dual core system. As for the graphic cards, go with 216 cores. There is a huge jump in performance with more processing cores. They are a bit higher priced. But, around the same price you're getting the current EVGA card for.

yeah def go with a core 216, maybe a E8600 for processor.

GPU, it's really pretty equal. Some people will tell you to go with the 260, some people will say the HD 4870. I'd personally go with the 4870 so I as the X58 SLi boards are way more expensive.

I would go with the Core i7 even if you're gaming. Apparently, you have the money for it, so why not? I like the architecture a lot better than the Core 2. It's a good mix between AMD and your traditional Intel.
