Default IDE to SATA question

I have an IDE to SATA converter. Can it be used in reverse? i.e. mounted on the RAID card and the sata cable goes to the hard disk?

should do, you might have to configure the RAID card's BIOS to do so (if exsits).

Some can be bi directional for that use and some not, give it a go to see if it works.
