Smile ide help

I have win xp pro 32 Bit and a Motherboard that has one iDE Interface on it.

The only thing I have gointo to the iDE Interface is a DVD ROM Drive.

And it works ok.
If I go into Device Manager and look under iDE Interfaces or controlers whatever it is.

I see
two Primary iDE
and two Secondary iDE

What is going on???

Default Re: ide help

It's possible there's two controllers on the board, but only one socket - may well have been done this way for cost cutting reasons. Either way, if everything's working as it should then there's nothing to worry about here.
