Default Ide

ok my moms computer died (we think the mobo) but its like 6 yrs old so time for upgrade. so i put a computer together real quick for my dad to look at (no case for software) and dummy me didnt thing about my moms old hdd that is ide driven. plus the fact i selected a micro board (i swore it picked ATX) but for the question! is there a addapter that would switch ide to sata or usb or somthing of the nature?

hard drives are pretty cheap.. why not just get a new one?

he is getting a new one, check his list of new hardware. I'm guessing he just wants to get all the data from the old one.
In that case... either just plug it in into a friends computer which accepts IDE or buy one of those external closures. For example: Newegg.com - VANTEC Nexstar 3 NST-360U2-RD Aluminum 3.5&#34; USB 2.0 External Enclosure

Only $30 and this way you have an external harddrive too.
