Will you actually use all 1.25 TB? or would just 500Gb suffice? If you would only use about 500Gb or 750Gb, I'd say do a RAID setup.

Thats what I have been trying to figure out.

I think I would because my limited amount of 160gb internal and my 500gb external both almost full. And I am holding back alot of things I want to get/download/torrent/whatever.

Then again, I am going by just fine now and probably dont need to clutter my drives

A dual WD 750Gb/32Mb RAID 0 or 1 setup would scale almost to 2x performance. It's approximately 2x the normal read and write speeds.

Raid 0 is the mirror on each hard drive, and raid 1 is the data split per hard drive, correct?

Should be able to set each individual SATA port to what RAID type you want. Works that way on my board.
