Default i7-990x

I was wondering if this has any "chipset" issues that i have been reading about and how do i know if it's version 1 or version 2? Thanks/ newb here.

the 990X is one of the first generation Core i.

It is the Sandy Bridge (Second Gen) chipsets that had issues. And these have been sorted out now anyway.

The new chips have names like 2600k, rather than 990X.
