i5 vs. Phenom II

is the cooler master V8 compatible with the i5? it doesnt list it in the list of compatible processors but since the i5 uses the same socket as some of the i7 processors i guess it would be fine

The i5 uses the 1156 socket, while the i7 uses the 1366.

Do your research first.



For editing, I always recommend going with Intel. Stick to the slowest i7 CPU and overclock. Even the i5 will do you extremely well.

Classic case of good Price-to-Performance (AMD) and Brand Price (Intel).

They are both good processors no doubt, but if u want to get most for your money, get AMD.

That isn't the case here since the Intel build is costing him $30 less.
