There's no need to get rid of Norton if it's working properly.
One thing you should do is to clear your internet cache and cookies to see if it helps eliminate some of your problems. Open up IE, click on Tools > Internet Options. On the General tab, under the heading of Browsing history, click on the Delete button. In the next widow, click on the Delete all button.
