What do you mean another game installed? Aslong as you only have one copy of The sims installed there should be no problems - When did it stop working? Did you install any new software/hardware?

i mean like a different game installed. but it shouldn't matter should it?
I installed it a while ago and it worked fine. then i uninstalled it, and installed it like a year later and it didn't work. well we got new virus protection, and high speed internet.

the virus protection might conflict with an part of a file thats needed during install.
