I installed my internal cd burner and it says disc drive A error

Ok I just finished installing my internal cd burner I took my old cd drive out and I matched up the cords. I hooked the cords up the same way that my old cd drive was hooked up and when I turned on my computer the green light on my cd burner was green but then when it got to the loading screen it said disk drive A Error and the the light blinked green so that had let me know that the power was ok but I want to know why wont it play any of my cds. When I tryed to put a cd in the disc kept spinning but nothig popped up every thing is hooked up right so what is the problem. Can someone please please help me I dont know what to do do I need to install it or something. Someone please help me

Do you have the jumper set right on the back of the cd drive? If it is the only drive, it should be set in the "master" setting.
I don't understand why it would be giving you a drive A error, your drive A is your floppy drive, unless you were messing with that too.
