I got a Laptop 2.5 HDD But my SATA wont fit into it nor will my sata power

What the hell im sitting here for 5 min trying to plug it in all different ways and it wont go in. It looks like the SATA that I have is to thick for it. Do laptops use different SATA then Desktops? do I really have to buy a stupid IDE converter I really dont want to I much rather use SATA.

Come on some one has to have an answer.

Are you trying to plug it into a desktop or back into the laptop?

There is a chance that if it's in the laptop that you need a converter that should have come with the laptop (possibly stuck onto the drive)
