I will TRY and do my best to help you. Ok first of all when you boot up your computer there is something that says "boot menu". Im pretty sure thats what it says. Anyway just click on whatever the hell it says. Also you can buy a program at CompUSA called WipeDrive. It will pwn your whole hard drive of any viruses and programs. SO you will have to buy the OP system CD again. But since you don't want to do this try the F10 thing when you first start your computer. It will say for a short time "boot menu" or something like that. MKAY !

ummmmmmmmm, Dell?

Have you contacted them, they may be able to supply one if you can satisfy their requirements. I'd suggest that's a good place to start.

Virus scanners, well, AVG Free, Trendmicro Online, BitDefender Online, Panda Online.

Adware scans, AVG Free Anti spyware, Adaware, Spybot.

I would suggest booting to "Safe Mode with Networking" and running a few of those.

If that doesn't work, you should call up dell Customer Support, they sell recovery disks that restore your computer back to its original factory settings. And if worst comes to worst you will have to get Linux for free on your computer while you get money to buy XP again.

Then again you could try Spybot which will most probably find the virus, AVG is good too. NOD32 offers a free trial.

Spybot is not a virus scanner, it is an adware scanner.

Spybot search and destroy searches for viruses too.

Download the NOD32 trial version install it then run it, If you do have to reformat you will have to buy a OS disc first. Run spybot as said before and also http://www.ccleaner.com/download/.
IF you get it cleaned without a reformat then get hold of either Norton ghost or Acronis True Image and make a back up of your HDD and save it on DVD or external HDD or flash drive.
