Default I am looking for some kind of external CD writer to use to back up files so I can get

I am looking for some kind of external CD writer to use to back up files so I can get them off my computer.
My goal is to free up space so my computer will run faster. My computer is
System Manufacturer:
System Model: MS-6743.
My OS is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Version:5.1.2600 Service Pack: 2.0
I am looking on ebay. What do I need to look for? I want to buy a good one, but I donít have very much money to spend.

external hard drives are quicker, easier, and generally more reliable (cd's get scratched, etc).
here in the uk you can get 500gb ones for £60-£80 which isnt that much

Yeah i second that external hardrive notion.I use one for backups,ands its MUCH Better than using DVD's.

I use Acronis True image home 11,it makes a full image of your hardrive.if something goes wrong,it taks 15 minutes to restore that image.It's a godsend
