Alright..well..the cheap part is very true...although I'm not a "bum".

I don't have any money to spend, and im very poor. just a heads up.

Well, my first question is...

I have a biostar k8m800 micro Am2.
I just got a new processor.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103772&cm_re=amd_athlon_6000%2b-_-19-103-772-_-Product

This list here for my motherboard says It wont support it..
http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/cpu_support.php?S_ID=141

But I was wondering..

Has the latest bios update (7-24-2008) supported this processor?
I can't find nothing on the web about it.

Also...bare with me...im very poor.

My 300w PSU...how will that hold with...

nvidia 6800GT
that cpu
1gb ddr2(Slowest speed..dunno what it is)
160gb hd.

If anyone could help, I would appreciate it very much. I know some things about computers...but spread the knowledge... :)

It looks like the latest BIOS update is from 11/03/2009. I really can't tell you if it will support the X2 6000+ you have. There is one way of finding out, update the BIOS, then install the new CPU. It wont hurt anything, it should just fail to boot if it doesn't support it.

Your 300W PSU should be fine to run that system with a 6800GT.
