HUB power

I recently had a virus on my PC and I had to restore the C hard drive. When everything was fixed, I noticed that the USB ports in the back of my computer don't have enough power to support my ipod. All that is plugged into those slots are the mouse, keyboard, and a 4-port HUB. Why would it have power before the restoration and not now? Any suggestions on how to get back the power?

My brother plugged his in today and it finally detected his, but it didn't to mine. All it does is charge the ipod

Maybe you had some drivers which made the USB ports more powerful or something?

It's possible, I suppose. These accelerators would no longer be there after a reformat.

Yeah, you probably have to reinstall the drivers.

Where would i install drivers? And is it safe to do so?
