Hi everyone I have a couple quick question about my Hp pavilion dv9500 laptop that I need to repair. The motherboard is an amd and the socket says S1. I got it back from a computer repair shop and I know the mobo is bad and need to buy a replacement. My questions are

1) do I need to buy a dv9500 amd mobo with a different socket number or will the processor fit as long as its an amd board?

2)can I replace it with a dv9000 instead of dv9500 mobo and if no how come? If anyone knows what their differences are.

3) where can I find my motherboards model # since the stickers next to the ram slots have been removed.

If you have an answer for any of these please share.
Any help is appreciated , thanks!

By the time you get answers to your questions, then find the parts you need, then get them shipped in, then put it all together and hope it works, you could spend roughtly the same amount and buy a new one. Check WalMart, OfficeMax, Office Depot, and Staples. The Sunday sales flyers are a good place to start.
