Hi everyone im thinking about buying a hp 6305 for £50

It's specs are

CPU: AMD A4 5300B
RAM: DDR3 4GB
HDD: 260gb

Few questions
1) is that a good price

2) what is the B at the end of the processor name I no about K ect

3) is there any reason why I couldn't take the cpu out and put it in a better mb and case

4) what would I be able to upgrade the cpu* too if I wanted too

1) I'd £50 is good price for that machine. What will you be using it for?

2) The full name of the processor is AMD A4-5300B with Radeon HD 7480D Graphics.

3) You should be able to take the CPU out and put into another machine.

4) You should be able to upgrade to another compatible FM2 CPU but you may have to update the bios.

You can find more information about this machine on the HP Support page HP Compaq Pro 6305 Small Form Factor Business PC - Overview

It would only be used as a HTPC running Kodi

For playback of video files h265 up to 1080p
And maby some h265 up to 1080p

I currently use a core 2 duo e6400 machine for this job but it can't handle 1080p hevc

It's also in a small form factor case so it's pretty much impossible to put in a dedicated GPU

But it does have a geforce 8400 (Crap)

I had a gt710 in my rig for a while while i was deciding on a beefier gpu to buy. i was pretty happy with it. it played 1080 videos pretty well. no games though. and they make them in half size, pcie x1. it's not the greatest but it'll fit in just about anything. i think they have small form factor gt730 too, if you ever feel like upgrading the graphics.

Yh I will prob upgrade the gpu at some point

Anybody any ideas on the best cpu that could be upgraded for the hp6305

Looks like it came with one of these: AMD A10-5800B with Radeon HD 7660D Graphics. probably can't go wrong with one of them.

EDIT: After further reading, I noticed the A10 has a tdp of 100w, unlike the others which only have 65w tdp. Maybe someone else knows for sure, but i'd imagine you'd need another/stronger fan, and/or bigger heatsync.

The HP 6305 SFF came with a AMD A4-5300b listed on HP's website.

Typing HP 6305 SFF A10 into google does list alot of machines also running the A10-5800B so maby it's an easy swap
