Smile how to overclock?

my computer is about four years old, its a dell dimensions 8300, my processor is an intel pentium 4 3.00Ghz (whatever that means) and i have 1.5GB of RAM.

surfing around this site really helps. now ive never overclocked my pc before but i want to give it a try.

first off, is my cpu capable of overclocking?

but overall, i just want to learn how to do it. thanks

The cpu is eminently overclockable but i believe you will be severely restricted by the fact your pc is a Dell.

It helps if you have specific settings in the BIOS that will allow you to overclock and do it well.

Dell lock the BIOS (I think) so unless you buy a new motherboard then you won't be able to overclock.

you could flash the bios, but there rarely are proper versions (which allow overclocking) available for mobos like that.

The easiest thing to do would be to buy a new motherboard.
