How much thermal paste shouold I put on?
I'm going to install a CPU and a new fan into my computer. I was wondering how much paste(Arctic Silver 5) to put on this. Someone suggested in a review of Arctic silver 5 that I put 2 rice grain(uncooked :P) size beads of it on the cpu or should I put it on the fan?

If you have a cooler with a flat base, apply about a BB sized amount in the centre of the IHS.
And AS5 FTL.

Perhaps following the manufacturers instructions may be in order?
How to apply AS5 by Arctic Cooling  EDIT: IHS is the heatspreader, the nickel coated copper top of the cpu yuki, you always use thermal compound between cpu and cooler

yuki, hes using aftermarket stuff. when you buy a cpu with the heatsink there will be thermal paste on the heatsink, and when you buy a heat sink it too has thermal paste with it, but AS5 is like the top of the line stuff that us overclockers use.
