Default how do we tell what video cards could be compatible

so is there any way of finding out what kind of graphics cards are compatible with a computer without opening the case up?
HP Pavilion A6500F Desktop
i need a 256mb card. any ideas?

A Google search brings up that system at HP's site. Product Specifications.

It says that you have an available PCI Express x16 slot for a graphics card.

What games or apps are you planning on running?

he told us the name of his desktop.... Just GOOGLE the specs...

it has a MAX of 250 Watts
