Default How do u reformat a computer?

Well guys i messed up my g/f's computer and i have tryed a couple of stuff and can't fix it. Can anyone tell me how to reformat the computer? She doesnt have any disk that came with the computer. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

well the disks has the operating system on it which you would need.

if running windows xp you'll need the set up cd, and a good idea of what kind of hardware in the machine because you'll probably have to install a few drivers.

yep. When u get ur hands on the OS cd then just put the cd in, go to the bios and set the computer to boot from the cd. Then reboot the computer and it should boot from the cd.

Then just delete all of the partitions (will remove EVERYTHING on the hdd) and make new ones. It would also be a good idea to burn the mobo (or atleast the network card) drivers on a cd so u can install them. The only one u really need is the network card, after installing it u can go online and get the rest of the drivers.
