Not a hard thing to do, but I need to remove the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon. And I have no idea where/how to do that.

Thanks!

From the Taskbar?!? How did you manage to get it down there? I'm thinking you might have created a shortcut to the "Quick Launch" toolbar? Simply delete it if that's the case. Just make sure it is the shortcut you're deleting (usually the small arrow in the lower left hand corner will signify a shortcut).

I think this is what you mean...
-Right click Start button
-Properties
-Taskbar tab
-Customize button
-Find the icon, and select Always Hide from the drop down menu

You don't. You apparently have a SATA drive. As long as you have that drive hooked up, you will see that icon. SATA drives are hot swappable, much like USB drives, so you will see that icon allowing you to stop the drive to unattach it from the computer.

No problem. It's a really useful trick when you're trying to get that clean look for your desktop, but you've got all these stupid tray icons cluttering it up.
