How do I find out how much RAM my motherboard can handle?

I believe you can see what kind of computer I have in my signature so I won't repeat. What I need to know is how I can find out how much RAM my motherboard can handle. I had posted a question previously and was told by one user that I could conceivably add as much RAM as I wanted as long as my motherboard could handle it. At the moment, as I think you can see, I have 512MB of Dual Channel SDRAM but would like to add at least 2GB more. When I pop open my computer I can see the RAM and space for two more sticks of RAM. Can I leave the original RAM in there and add the 2GB? I assume this is the case but just wanted to make sure. Thanks! Sorry I know so little. :(
