How to delete files on a cd-rw?

I am running windows vista home premuim. I have burned a back up onto some re-writeable disks. Now i no longer want the back ups on these disks and i have so far been unable to remove them. How can i remove the back up from the disk without buying software and if i need software what free one should i use?

dosnt work. my computer is blocking it from removing it

It almost sounds like they were "finalized". That will make whatever you burned on the discs permanent and you will also be unable to burn more content to the disc.

Try burning a small file to one of them.
