I have an LCD screen That I have connected to my Dell notebook. I want to be able to be able to run certain programs on my external LCD while at the same time run a different program on my notebooks screen. Is this possible? and if so please explain in detail. Thankyou

It really depends on your operating system. It would have to be either Windows or Linux (im assuming Windows)
On Windows XP:
Right click anywhere on your desktop and click Properties
Click the Settings tab
Click on your second monitor and check the box that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"
Hit Apply and OK

I'm not sure about Vista, but I'm guessing it is probably similar.

Yes, make sure the settings aren't just replicating what you do on screen A onto screen B.

Vista's settings are exactly the same.
