HOT graphics card

i just got my new computer and it has an evga 6800gt graphics card and it idles at about 35-40C!!! isnt that to hot???

no that seems fine.

that is about right but after a few weeks it might cool down a little more when the thermal paste sets. That will normally drop it a few degrees.

no, thats a perfectly fine temp. my 6600gt runs about 45-55.

The 6800GT runs really hot, as does other high-end cards. Personally, mine runs at 52-53C idle, and 75-76C load, and it's perfectly fine. The 6800GT is meant to take all that heat. But just in case, I got a Zalman cooler and a system exhaust blower, but apparently you dont need one of those.
