Default hmm...stupid internet

ok, i have a problem w/ my internet everynow and then. at random times whenever i turn my computer on my internet will act...weird. it will work, but everytime i go to a differant site or just jump threads it will open a new window for it...i was looking at threads today and had 28 windows!!! and when it does this the scroll buttons on my mouse won't work. a restart will cure the problem, and it only happens about once a day...but i need to know if its a problem that should/can be cured permenantly?

Your browser you mean, not the internet..

Sounds like you have a browser highjack.
Run HighJackThis
See if that helps

Along with that Run your standard spyware/adware and virus scans..

Also a good test to see if it's IE or not is to download FireFox and see if the problem is still there.

Is it only firefox or only Internet explorer or both?

If it's only firefox doing that, then I suspect a plugin or extention that is at fault.

If it's both, Then it could be a piece of spyware.
Or
Could be ISP software.. Like if you have SBC Global or comcast.. Those can do some strange things.

As for MS Spyware... No a big fan of it..
I myself use ScanSpyware.
